She draws in a breath, approaching the earthbender carefully. She may be blind but she wasn’t completely sightless.
❝ Toph, I.. I’m sorry.. ❞
She pauses, quickly expecting an interupption in the beginnings of her apology but it’s the silence that really pauses her instead of the stubborn voice. The older woman’s back is facing her, and Korra continues forward with her steps and words.
❝I know you were trying to help me a-and I’m sorry for getting so worked up and saying things that weren’t my place to speak about. I know that I’m.. not the best Avatar and compared to Aang, I’m probably the worst ever. I know I’ve ruined more than I’ve fixed and it kind of got to me when we were practicing earlier.. I know your relationship with Lin isn’t exactly something to brag about and I shouldn’t have said anything else. I think I know when you’re upset Toph, and I know what I said upset you.. And I just.. really needed to apologize.. ❞
Korra rubs at the back of her neck, now waiting awkwardly for some sort of smart, stubborn remark from the earthbender or a block of earth to the face.
Whichever came first.
