Send me “SLAP!” for my muse’s reaction to getting slapped in the face by yours.
There’s a quick and unexpected sting on her cheek, one area quickly grows hot where the sting previously sat just seconds ago. She notices the hand move back to it’s owners side, her eyes watching the the cold glare as it sits on her; a bare twitch of a smirk pulls at the others lips.
❝What the hell was that for?! ❞She approached forwards and stood straight in front of Korra so she they will be able to face each other at eye level. Her facial expression was was susceptible, yet she frowned her eyebrows with rage. “You deserve it.” She fell waves of emotional pain running through her body, prejudicing her muscles and restricting her physical abilities. She felt as if she cannot move any longer and so she stood still in her place. “I still didn’t forgive you.” She said bitterly with anger in her voice. Her narrowed fists started to demobilize slowly as she spoke further. “I still didn’t forgive you for risking your life for me. You were so stupid. And I am so grateful. But I still think you were stupid. You have important Avatar duties to take care of! I, on the contrary, am hopeless and helpless! How dare you risk Raava, The Avatar cycle and your very own life in order to save my butt!?”
If only she managed to move further, but she was frozen in her location. She hated to feel confined, but this was just one of the many physical flames of pain that daily burned her lungs up and ignited her bones with soreness. Innerly, she wanted to tell Korra about the wardens who were beating her up, but she couldn’t as she felt as she already owed to much to her.
She feels a sharp, stinging response impulsively slipping between her lips; insults and curses rolled into a heavy mallet and ready to land a strike on top of the Great Uniter but she holds back when the woman continues. It’s not what she expects Kuvira to be saying, not at all. It’s clear what she sees herself as; someone who’s not worthy or even deserving of having her life saved.
❝ You don’t have to forgive me. ❞
Korra doesn’t need Kuvira’s forgiveness. Knowing that she’s at least grateful to her is good enough. But as she raises to a shout, Korra wants to tell her to calm down; that she was couldn’t let Kuvira go down permanantly in front of that spirit canon.
❝ At the time Kuvira, you were part of those avatar duties. And that’s why I did what I did but it’s also more than that. ❞
She doesn’t continue right away, instead seeing something else that the older woman is trying to say, trying to get out but visibly; physically can’t.
